Pregnant cows are housed in a special maternity barn for the couple of weeks before they are due, so they can be monitored more closely. When they are close to calving, they are moved into individual calving pens.

Our goal is to keep our cows comfortable and happy. They enjoy sand bedding, and have plenty of time to lounge.

There are around 50 calves born on the farm each month. About half are heifers and half are bulls.

Spraying pre-emerge herbicide on a field helps crops get off to a good start, by preventing weeds from competing with the corn.
